Terms of service

Oak Guys work very hard on customer satisfaction. All of our products are made to the highest standard and are described accurately in their individual listing. Returns are very rare, however in the unlikely event you are not satisfied, let us know by email and quoting your invoice number and full name and address. For custom, made to measure and bespoke products, we cannot accept returns under any circumstances, unless the item is damaged or made incorrectly.

Conditions of Sale for Oak Products  and Disclaimer
Oak is a natural product and subject to its environment and its own ageing process it may bend, twist, split and change colour depending on its grain characteristics, age and according to changes in temperature and to levels of moisture and light in the atmosphere. Whilst all efforts are made to source parasite and infestation free timber, no guarantee can be given against this, as parasites can lay dormant and not be visible for years before coming active.

When sold as kiln or air dried oak, no guarantee can be given that it will not further release  moisture, bend, twist, split, or shrink as it acclimatises to the current atmosphere. While every reasonable effort is made to supply oak which is appropriate for its end use, no liability whatsoever is accepted or implied by Oak Guys, or any of its employees for any timber supplied.

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel your order at any time for certain reasons including but not limited to: product or service availability, errors in the description or price of the product or service, error in your order or other reasons. You expressly agree that Oak Guys cannot accept any liability for loss or damage arising out of such cancellation.


Damaged Goods
Please ensure you unpack and check your item(s) thoroughly before signing for the parcel(s). In the unlikely event your goods arrive damaged, the buyer is responsible to reject  and refuse to sign for the parcel(s), the buyer is also responsible for reporting the rejection to Oak Guys within 2 days. Oak Guys cannot accept responsibility or issue a refund if damaged item(s) have been signed for – this is due to the fact that we cannot claim from the couriers if the goods are signed for.

Returns and Refunds
Returns are accepted as long as you inform us within 14 days from receipt of your goods, either in writing, email or by telephone and the products must be returned within 14 days of notification.

Your returned products must be in the original packaging and unused and not damaged. On receipt of your returned goods we will issue a refund or replacement. The return postage and packaging costs are payable by the customer.

Missing Items
In the unlikely event that there are items missing from your order, you must notify us by email or phone within 24 hours of signing for your parcel. We cannot accept responsibility for items that are missing if a report is not made within the 24 hours.
