Each slim oak stair tread is kiln-dried, precisely machined and hand-finished in our workshop to ensure strength, stability and a clean, modern fit.

Slim Oak Stair Treads Finish & Natural Character

Oak is a natural material, and each tread will display its own grain pattern and subtle colour variation. Occasional knots or natural markings may be present and are considered part of the timber’s character.

Wider treads are made from multiple pieces of solid oak, expertly jointed to create a stable, consistent board.

Our hand-finished surface highlights these features while providing a smooth, durable finish suitable for everyday use.

Are your stair treads made from solid oak?

Yes. All of our stair treads are made from solid, kiln-dried European oak. This gives better durability, a more authentic look and the option to refinish or change the colour in the future.

Will solid oak stair treads move or crack?

Oak is a natural material and may show small amounts of movement as it acclimatises to your home. This can include minor expansion, contraction, or small surface splits. We use kiln-dried oak to minimise movement and these characteristics are considered part of the natural charm of solid timber.

Can the stair treads be cut to size?

Yes. All stair treads are made to order and can be cut to your required dimensions. This is particularly useful when working with bespoke stair frames or from building designs.

How thick are the oak stair treads?

Our standard stair treads are produced at approximately 25mm & 30mm thick, offering a slim, contemporary appearance while still feeling substantial and strong once installed.

Do you offer custom sizes?

Yes, most of our products have either a built in calculator so you can purchase the exact size you need or have menu sizing to choose from.

What are your dispatch times?

We aim to dispatch our boards and shelving within 7 - 10 days but in busy periods this can be up to 2 weeks, if you have any questions please contact us.
