We make our Oak slabs from boules

 

A wood Boule is a log or tree that has been cut into planks lengthwise restocked with the natural waney or live edge intact which makes great timber for use in interior design projects where the wood will be used as centrepiece.

 

What widths are available?

 

Widths can start from 30 cm - 40 cm in single slabs and wider in either a single piece or joined slabs. Slabs are colour matched and professionally joined in house by our experienced craftsmen.

 

Character more or less?

Some of our stock is Pippy Oak which has more character and small little knot clusters on the surface. You have the choice of more or less character on the face and also whether you are looking for live edge or square edge on the sides of the Oak top.

Tolerances 

Due to the slabs being a natural product there is a tolerance of around 5mm.

 

Example, 40mm listed slab after machining and final sanding could be between 40mm & 35mm.

 

Slabs come sanded to a fine finish ready for oiling or varnish to be applied.

 

We can offer an oiling service too. Please ask for more info.

Do you offer custom sizes?

Yes, most of our products have either a built in calculator so you can purchase the exact size you need or for finished products we have menu sizing to choose from.

What are your dispatch times?

We aim to dispatch our boards and shelving within 7 - 10 days but in busy periods this can be up to 2 weeks, if you have any questions please contact us.

Where do you source your timber?

We source our timber from responsibly managed forests in France and across Europe, prioritising sustainability, quality, and long-term forest management.
